When is my MCS-150 due?
Enter your USDOT number to find your biennial-update deadline instantly. Missing it risks USDOT deactivation and up to $10,000 in penalties.
Heads up: FMCSA switched systems on May 14, 2026.
The old portal and USDOT-PIN sign-in are retired — MCS-150 updates now go through the new Motus system with a Login.gov account. See the step-by-step Motus filing guide.
How your due date is set
Your MCS-150 schedule is keyed to your USDOT number: the last digit picks the month, and the next-to-last digit picks the year (odd → odd years, even → even). It's due every 24 months — and within 30 days of any major change.
What happens if you miss it
Missing it can deactivate your USDOT number — meaning you can't legally operate — plus civil penalties of up to $1,000/day, capped at $10,000. (FMCSA has paused some automated deactivations during the mid-2026 Motus transition — don't count on the pause; file on schedule.)
